OKIDATA MAXIMIZES SPEED, FLEXIBILITY IN NEW DOT-MATRIX PRINTER

MT. LAUREL, N.J. January 31, 1991 -- Okidata today announced the Microline 184 Turbo, a high-performance 9-pin demand document printer designed to tackle tough printing applications.

Especially effective in industrial and point-of-sale environments, the ML184T has a 300 character-per-second (cps) draft print speed -- 35 percent faster than its predecessor, Okidata's ML182 Turbo.

Also, its mean-time-between-failure (MTBF) rating of 6,000 hours is 50 percent longer than the ML182T's. The ML184T has retained form-fit-function compatibility to the ML182T.

In designing the ML184T, Okidata began with the ML182T's foundation of quality and dependability, and added new features to enhance its performance and Okidata's patented optical sensor that accurately positions the printhead for clear, precise printing on the last page
of five-part forms. Also, a sturdy rack-and-pinion drive system and a 200-million character printhead life ensure unsurpassed reliability.

The ML184T upholds Okidata dot-matrix printers' outstanding reputation for advanced paper handling. It's the only printer in its class to allow direct access to the last form printed -- without wasting a form -- when feeding continuous forms from the bottom paper path. This is the most reliable way to feed forms or paper in any dot-matrix printer.

OKIDATA, division of Oki America, Inc. (OKIDATA) warrants this MICROLINE printer to be free from defect in material and workmanship and will remedy any such defect according to the terms of this Limited Warranty. This Limited Warranty does not extend to consumable items, including but not limited to ribbons, fuses, etc.

OKIDATA will repair (or at its option, replace) at no charge, any defective component(s) of the MICROLINE printer for one (1) year from the date of purchase. This Limited Warranty extends to the original purchaser only.

To make request or claim for service under this Limited Warranty the original purchaser must return the OKIDATA product, shipping prepaid, in the original shipping container or equivalent, to OKIDATA or an authorized OKIDATA service center and assume the risk of loss or damage in transit. A written receipt for the product, showing the date of purchase, dealers name, and both the model and serial numbers of the OKIDATA MICROLINE printer must accompany any request or claim for work to be performed under this Limited Warranty.

This Limited Warranty shall not apply if the product has been damaged due to abuse, misuse, misapplication, accident, or as a result of service or modification by any other than an authorized OKIDATA service center.

THERE ARE NO EXPRESS WARRANTIES OTHER THAN THOSE ON THE FACE HEREOF AND DESCRIBED ABOVE. NO WARRANTIES WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALL EXTEND BEYOND THE RESPECTIVE WARRANTY PERIOD DESCRIBED ABOVE OF ONE (1) YEAR.
