| Certain Thin Client Terminal models (T1000, T1010, and T1010i)
stop responding (hang) at the Compaq Splash screen when using the
Terminal HotKey Reset (pressing G on the keyboard
during startup) to restore the terminals to the original factory
settings.

NOTE |
After encountering the issue, users must power
off the terminals and disconnect the power source for two
minutes before powering them on again. |

| This issue occurs on the Compaq Thin Client Terminal models
listed in the table below.

| Users can recover, after encountering the issue, by performing
the RECOVERY procedure (below). Once the terminal has been
recovered, users can perform the RESET procedure (below) to restore
the factory default Terminal settings. Finally, users can avoid the
issue by performing the SAFEGUARD procedure (below) to disable the
Hot Reset function.
RECOVERY Procedure:
- Power the terminal off.
- Disconnect the power supply.
- Leave the power supply disconnected for at least two minutes.
- Reconnect the power supply.
- Power the terminal on.

NOTE |
The power supply must be disconnected to
recover the terminal after encountering the issue. Simply
powering the terminal off for two minutes will not recover it!

RESET Procedure:
- Start or restart the terminal.
- Press the F2 key (to display the Terminal
Properties window) while the Connection Manager screen is
displayed.
- Check the Reset the terminal to factory-default
property settings check-box.
- Click the Yes button to apply the change and
restart the terminal.
SAFEGUARD Procedure:
- Start or restart the terminal.
- Press the F2 key (to display the Terminal
Properties window) while the Connection Manager screen is
displayed.
- Select the Security tab.
- Clear the Reset HotKey Enable check-box.
- Click the Yes button to apply the change and
restart the terminal.
